New in Genealogy Assistant v2.4
Offering greater control over how your AncestryDNA matches are opened, connecting popular family history platforms and more!
With the latest update to Genealogy Assistant, you can now navigate directly to either the Trees tab or the Shared Matches tab of your DNA matches based on where you click.
This helpful feature enables you to choose which tab you would like to view for each individual match, as our needs often change from moment to moment during research.
When you click on the profile photo (or initials) of a DNA match, it will automatically open that match’s page to the Trees tab, and when you click on the text name of a match, it will automatically open to the Shared Matches tab.
This works with both the standard matches list, including searches, as well as in the shared matches list when viewing a match. You can also middle-click on each element to open the link in a new tab.

One of the newest features we’ve added to Genealogy Assistant is the ability to open the page of any person in your Ancestry family tree directly from the Quick Search bar.
Quick Search is our handy spotlight-style search bar that you can open from any page. It allows you to perform advanced searches and actions by pressing crtl and then the forward slash (/) key. This keyboard shortcut can be customized to anything you choose.
Now you can index all the people in your family tree so you can easily open a person’s profile from any page, enabling you to find the person you’re looking for without losing your research flow.
This helps save so much time during our active research sessions, allowing you to quickly move between people in your family tree without tedious navigation.
